Regency of Kendal has wide area of 1,002.23 square kilometers or 100,223 hectars with height of 4-641 m above sea level.
Regency of Kendal is adjancent to Java Sea in the north, City of Semarang in the east, Regency of Temanggung and Semarang in the south, and Regency of Batang in the south. Regency of Kendal is divided into 20 subdistricts, 265 villages and 20 political districts representative by lurah.
Regency of Kendal's area is divided into 3 types, namely mountain that is located in the south with height of 0 - 2,579 m dpl and temperature of 25o C, hilly area that is located on the centee and low landa area that is located in the north with height of 0 -10 m dpl and temperature of 27o C.
Main commodity of Regency of Kendal is agriculture, plantation and services sector. Commodity of agriculture sector is corn, tobacco, and sweet potato. Commodity of plantation sector is coffee, rubber, sugarcane, coconut, and cloves. Commodity of service sector is tourism, namely culture and nature tourism.
